Loki & a “strong mind”

“What are you doing?…Are you trying to enchant me?…It won’t work.”

“Why? Because you’re a magician?!”

“No, because my mind is too strong!”

Loki; season 1, episode 3: Lamentis

I watched this exchange between Loki and Sylvie and the next day had it brought to mind as I struggled with the familiar feeling of being weak (and I inserted “minded” here) as I looked into the future and felt unsure of my ability to maintain resolve etc. in regards to implementing long-term positive change and realizing positive growth specifically in my marital relationship. It was interesting how on musing upon the thought that perhaps I was in need of a “stronger mind”, the Spirit brought to the forefront of my thoughts the Truth of the matter, He whispered into me: “But you have the mind of Christ!”. I didn’t actually find the exact Scripture the first time I tried looking it up. At first, I went to Philippians 2:5, where Paul is encouraging those in the church in Philippi to, “Have this mind [attitude] among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus…”. Not exactly what the Spirit had brought to mind but a few days later I looked again and found 1 Corinthians 2:16 which says, “…But we have the mind of Christ.” But for the second person pronoun added, this was it word for word! Isn’t the Spirit cool?
